Faye Barrett Doudna, age 89, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky, following a brief illness. Born Sunday, March 17, 1935, in the Fariston community of Laurel County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late George & Bertha Adams Baker. Faye was a talented seamstress and previously worked at Rainbow Cleaners. Faye was a member of Philadelphia Church of God, enjoyed gardening and flowers, and was an avid rooster collector.
Faye leaves behind two sons, Dennis Barrett (Carla) of Lincoln County, Kentucky, and Ricky Barrett (Marianne) of Covington, Tennessee; two daughters, Cathy Shifflett (Jim) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Diane Barrett of Berea, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Baker of Alabama; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
Faye was preceded in death by her two husbands, Clarence W. Barrett, and Robert Doudna; four brothers, Paul, George, Bill, and Bob; and five sisters, Margaret, Edith, Ann, Edna, and Barbara.
A Public Visitation will be held 10AM-12PM Friday, May 10, 2024, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 12PM Friday, at the funeral home. Bro. Stewart Dawson will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Faye’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
