Sister Eulavene Tackett, age 83, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 10th, 2022, at her daughter, Debi’s home. She was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on Sunday, May 29, 1938. Eulavene was the daughter of the late Silas and Lona (Branham) Akers.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elder Charles Tackett; three sisters; five brothers; one grandbaby; and two great grandbabies.
Sister Eulavene was a faithful member of the Little Pilgrims Rock Church of Old Regular Baptist in Waynesburg, Kentucky. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Eulavene loved seeing her family to come visit. She always looked forward to Sundays so she could go to church when she was able.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan (Wally) Compton of Stanford, and Debi (Ricky) Keathly of Danville, Kentucky; one son, Charles Dean (Tresa) Tackett of Salyersville, Kentucky; one sister, Violet Nunnley of Tracy City, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was a beacon for our family and will be truly missed.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Monday, March 14, 2022, at Little Pilgrims Rock Church with Elder Charles Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
