Elizabeth Fay (Johnson) Schnitzler

Elizabeth “Fay” Schnitzler, 72, of Stanford, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at UK Hospice Care Center in Lexington. She was born in Miamisburg, Ohio on February 19, 1953, to the late William Robert Johnson Sr. and Ida Baker Johnson Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger, whom she married on June 23, 1973.

Fay and Roger owned JR’s Video Store, for eleven years; and Fay worked at Danville Physical Therapy, where she retired as a physical therapy technician. She loved both flower and vegetable gardening.

In addition to her husband, Fay is survived by two sisters, Kathleen Ferrell (Mike) and Norene Cooper (David) both of Danville; eight nephews and nieces, Justin Feldman (Melissa) of Mt. Vernon, Harlan Feldman (Kate) of Stanford, Tonya Coleman (Roy) of Stanford, Kimberly Hill (Jesse) of Arkansas, Alvin Johnson (Sarah) of Texas, Jessica Ferrell Kinser (Justin) of Louisville, Bryan Ferrell (Savannah) of Bardstown and Austin David Cooper of Danville; four great-nephews, Scott Joseph (Kenzie) of Danville, Mitchell Gage Joseph of Arkansas, Andrew Johnson of Texas and Morgan Coleman of Stanford; a brother-in-law, William Morgan Schnitzler Jr.; a sister-in-law, Jenny Horton Johnson of Texas; three great-great nephews; and 2 great-great nieces.

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by a brother, William Robert Johnson Jr.; a nephew, Robert Daryl Johnson; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Feldman; and a sister-in-law by marriage, Rebekah Schnitzler.

Public Visitation will be 11AM to 1 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Fox and Friend Funeral Home.

A Public Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Hughes will officiate the service. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Fay’s memorial page on the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.  Austin Cooper, Bryan Ferrell, Scott Joseph, Harlan Feldman, Andrew Johnson, and Justin Feldman will serve as Active Pallbearers.  David Cooper and Mike Ferrell will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
