Edward Fields, age 81, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born Sunday, March 16, 1941, in Blackey, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Monroe and Maudie Back Fields. His loving wife, of 50 years, is Carol Ann Shrader Fields, whom he married Saturday, June 24, 1972. Edward was a US Army Veteran, serving 2 years Active and 10 years in the National Guard. He was a member of Stanford Presbyterian Church and a VFW Post member. Edward enjoyed fishing at a young age, golfing, and was a member of the Dix River Country Club. He also loved camping and was a big UK Basketball fan.
In addition to his loving wife, Edward leaves behind one daughter, Amelia Norton (Kent) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one grandson, Kaleb Norton of Cincinnati; and one sister, Margaret Ann O’Connor of Somerset, Kentucky.
Along with his parents, Edward was preceded in death by one infant twin brother, Edwin Fields; and one sister Mildred Hammond.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-7PM EST, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Stanford Presbyterian Church.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM EST, Friday, February 17, 2023, at the church. Rev. Brad Napier and Rev. Elizabeth Stone will officiate the service.
Burial, with Full Military Honors, will take place 3:00PM EST, Friday, February 17, 2023, at Columbia Cemetery in Columbia, Kentucky.
