Donna C. Mercer

Donna C. Mercer, age 62, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 23, 2024, in Danville, Kentucky.  Born Monday, November 26, 1962, in Somerset, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Doyal Hines and the late Sylvia Irene Hayes Hines.  Her loving husband, whom she married Monday, October 8, 2018, is Mike Mercer of Waynesburg.  Donna was an RN and worked, for many years, as a Home Health Nurse.  Donna enjoyed playing her Nintendo Switch, and caring for her cats and horses. 

In addition to her husband, Donna leaves behind one son, Ronald Kyle Harris of Danville, Kentucky; four daughters, Rachel Wesley (Josh) of Somerset, Jana Brooks (Rusty Benge) of Waynesburg, Whitney Harris of Somerset, and Kaylyn McCarty (Connor) of Danville; nine grandchildren; one brother, Johnnie Hines (Brenda “Ben”) of McKinney, Kentucky; one sister, Cheryl Middleton of Somerset; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1PM Saturday, at the funeral home.  Bro. David Gambrel will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Donna’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.
