Donald Wesley Salyers, age 74, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his residence. Born Friday, May 17, 1946 in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Oakley Salyers and the late Grace Walls Bradley. Donald was a Vietnam Veteran, who served in the US Air Force (1964-1968), and obtained the rank as Sergeant. He worked as a Program Manager for AT&T. Donald was a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church. Donald enjoyed farming, traveling, and gardening.
Donald leaves behind his wife, Emma Unthank Salyers of Crab Orchard; one son, Bryan Wesley Salyers (Tina) of Meridianville, Alabama; one daughter, Cynthia Leann Fields of Marcus, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Logan Salyers, Jacob Fields, Eden Salyers, Gracie Fields, Walker Fields, London Fields, and Cole Salyers; two sisters, Betty Gail Whittaker of Waynesburg, Kentucky, and Juanita Hamner of Lancaster, Kentucky; and several extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. Bro. Kevin Pittman will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home Facebook page.
Burial will follow in KP Hall Cemetery with Full Military Honors performed by Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Logan Salyers, Jacob Fields, Walker Fields, Chris Fortner, Joel Thompson, and Miles Fortner will serve as Active Pallbearers. Cole Salyers will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
