Donald A. Young

Donald A. Young, age 79, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his home.  Born Monday, September 13, 1943, in Stanford, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Earl & Ottie Baugh Young.  His loving wife, whom he married Saturday, June 1, 1963, is Sue Hagan Blankenship Young of Brookville, Ohio.  Donald retired as a foreman from Hawkins & Sons and worked as a machinist at Sluterbeck Tools.  Donald loved being outdoors and enjoyed mowing his lawn.

In addition to his wife, Donald leaves behind two daughters, Lisa Martin (Bryan) of Brookville, Ohio, and Laura Helbig (Don) of Fairfield, Ohio; six grandchildren, BJ Martin (Laura) of Englewood, Ohio, Molly Martin (Adam Diaz) of Englewood, Ohio, Maria Helbig (Jon Engel) of Fairfield, Ohio, PFC Tommy Martin of Brookville, Ohio, Nikki Shim (Yeongdae) of Brookville, Ohio, and Ashley Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Teddy Martin and Lily Martin both of Englewood, Ohio; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by five brothers, Jim Young, Carol Young, Ivan Young, Charles Young, and Frank Young.

A Public Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the shelter of Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, Kentucky.  Bro. Jason Coulter will officiate the service.

Burial will follow the service.  Donald’s grandchildren will serve as Active Pallbearers.
