Detty Smock Obituary

Detty May Smock, age 84, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. Born Wednesday, March 18, 1936 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James Herman Petrey and Frankie Lawson Petrey. Detty was the widow of the late Irving Milton Smock, who preceded her in death Tuesday, March 30, 1999.

Detty leaves behind one son, James Harris (Cindy) of Stanford; two granddaughters, McKayla Rivel (Zack) and McKenzie Harris; five brothers, Curtis Petrey of Wakeman, Ohio, Stanley Petrey of Georgetown, Kentucky, Billy Petrey of Georgetown, and Ansel Petrey of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; and three sisters, Betty Sue Petrey of Tennessee, Bonnie Genton of Tennessee and Nancy Petrey of Salvisa, Kentucky.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Detty was preceded in death by five brothers, Wallace, Denver, Junior, James and Robert Petery; and two sisters, Wanda Foley and Doris Denny.

Cremation Rites have been honored. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
