Detective Harold Timothy Morris (Officer #559), age 64, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. Born Monday, January 14, 1957, he was the son of late Harold Nelson & Lillian Willis Morris in Dayton, Ohio. Tim spent 24 years in Law Enforcement, 16 of those years with the Stanford Police Department. Tim also was an instructor in the Criminal Justice Department for Eastern Kentucky University. Tim began a Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in Stanford, where he served as President and started the Shop with a Cop Campaign in Stanford. Tim was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lincoln Lodge #60, where he served two years as Master. Tim also was a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Blue Knights Kentucky XI, and member of the Stanford Lions Club. He also previously was a substitute teacher at Lincoln County Middle & High Schools. Tim also was assistant baseball coach for Lincoln Middle School.
Tim leaves behind his wife, Rita Martin Morris of Stanford; two children, Spencer Morris (Darlene) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Vinny Morris (Savannah) of Georgetown, Kentucky; two step-children, Mary Courtiour (Stephen) of Danville, and Beth Martin (Jason Irvin) of Stanford; two step-grandchildren, Lukas Paul Courtiour and Grayson Lane Wilson; one sister, Darlene Lanham of Stanford; and several extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
Public Visitations will be held 4-8PM Friday, September 3, 2021, and 11AM-1PM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Grace Fellowship Church.
The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Saturday at the church. Bro. Jeremy Johnson and Bro. Vola Brown will officiate the service. Masonic Rites will be given during the service. The funeral service will be live streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
Burial, with full honors, will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Members of the Stanford Police Department, Chief Parker Hatter, and Deputy Kyle Peters will serve as Active Pallbearers. Members of the Masonic Lodge, Lincoln Lodge #60, will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
