Deronda (Halcomb) Sears

Deronda Halcomb Sears, age 61, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Danville, Kentucky. Born Monday, March 11, 1963, in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Hillard and June Greer Halcomb. Deronda was the widow of the late William Jeffrey “Jeff” Sears whom she married on Friday February 6, 1987, and preceded her in death on Friday November 21, 2021. She worked in the Garrard County School System. Deronda attended Grace Fellowship Church and was a devoted Christian. She loved her family dearly, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Nana. Deronda enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and flowers, but the true joy of her life was spending time with her grandsons.

Deronda leaves behind one son; Brian Halcomb (Stephanie) of the Highland Community of Lincoln County; two grandsons, Truett and Gus Halcomb; four brothers, Danny Halcomb (Barbara)of Camden, Ohio, Dale Halcomb (Mary Lou) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Dennis Halcomb of Brandenburg, Kentucky, and Dave Halcomb (Dwanna) of Hustonville, Kentucky; and one sister, Donetta Garrison of Hamilton.

Along with her husband, Deronda was preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Halcomb.

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.

A Public Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM Friday, August 2, 2024, at the funeral home. Bro. Kerry Jones will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
