Dennis Lee Counts

Dennis Lee Counts, age 68, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky.  Born Saturday, February 25, 1956, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Earnest Ralph Counts and the late Edith Alexander Cannon.  Dennis previously worked as a truck driver and enjoyed farming.  Dennis was also the caregiver of his grandson, Austin.  He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and canning. 

Dennis leaves behind one daughter, Laura Lee Gilliam (Lincoln) of Stanford; three grandchildren, Austin Denny of Stanford, Alexis Byrd of Mackville, Kentucky, and Megan Denny of Stanford; five great-grandchildren, Bowen Lee, Ekko Kash, Saylor Grace, Remington Paige, and Lainey Cove; one brother, David Bruce Nelson (Barb) of Williamsburg, Ohio; two sisters, Frances Linville-Goens of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Sheila Godby-Padgett (Darrin) of Waynesburg, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Bradley Counts; one granddaughter, Briana Paige Denny; and one brother-in-law, Leroy Goens.

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. 

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, February 7, 2025, at the funeral home.  Bro. Vola Brown and Dale Hatter will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Dennis’ memorial page of the funeral home’s website. 

Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Darrin Padgett, Dale Hatter, Roger Kirkpatrick, Lynn Young, Barry Wilson, and Dewayne Ruckel will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Richard Greer, Lincoln Gilliam, and Jonathan Denny will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
