Cynthia “Cindy” Williams Murphy

Cynthia “Cindy” Williams Murphy, age 63, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 in Charleston, West Virginia following a brief illness.  Born Friday, March 28, 1958 on Ellison Ridge in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Alma Lee May Cress & the late Olen Cress.  Cindy previously attended and was baptized at Parlor Grove Baptist Church in Waynesburg, Kentucky.  Cindy was a member of the Army Reserves.  She worked as an assistant manager at GoMart.  She also served as a missionary, witnessing in several countries during her life.  She was an avid arrowhead rock collector and enjoyed flower gardening.  She loved spending time with her fur babies, Pippy and Dory.

Cindy leaves behind two daughters, Alma Leah Gregory and Rachel Murphy Harris (Charles) both of Spencer; six grandchildren, Calista Kay Sizemore, Wesley Sizemore, Olen Gene Foster, HannahLee Alexis Harris, Charlie Edward Harris III, and Ivy Mae Harris; two brothers, Richard Lynn Williams (Kim) of McCreary County, Kentucky, and Paul Williams (Krista) of Corbin, Kentucky; two sisters, Gail Ford (Brent) of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Charlotte Salyers of Kings Mountain, Kentucky; step-brother, Jeff Dickinson (Carol) of Pisgah, Ohio; step-sister, Ann Sowders of Corbin; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members; and her large work family from GoMart.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Ray Williams and Ronald Lee Williams; and one sister, Mary Ruth Williams.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Monday, May 17, 2021 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.

The Public Funeral Service will begin at 1:00PM Monday at the funeral home.  Brent Ford will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home Facebook page.

Burial will follow in Cress Cemetery.  Charles Harris, Andrew Williams, Josh Smith, Tim Combs, David Williams, and Tony Cress will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Calista Kay Sizemore, Wesley Sizemore, Erica Hart, Patrick, Paige, Michelle Ford, Crystal Crank, Melissa New, and David Benedict will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to current COVID-19 regulations, those individuals who have not been vaccinated, will be required to wear face coverings.
