Connie Mae Hamilton passed away peacefully at University of Florida Villages Hospital, in The Villages, Florida, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She was born January 30, 1953, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Lawrence “Buster” Hamilton and Mertie (Morgan) Hamilton. Connie graduated from Casey County High School in 1971 and retired in 2010, prior to moving to Florida to enjoy her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two sons and her companion dog Meisha, who provided unconditional love and comfort to her. She loved going to church and participating in many activities there. Connie’s hobbies included making quilts, sewing, gardening, and canning. Some of her greatest memories were working at Hamilton’s Grocery with her family, enjoying all the conversations with those she met, and most of all enjoying time with those she loved.
Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Roy, three bothers Lawrence “Bud” Hamilton, Bobby Hamilton, and Gerald Hamilton, two brothers-in-law Henson Luttrell and Louis Roy, and one sister-in-law, Shirley Hamilton.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Floyd (Paula) of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, and Joseph Floyd of Waynesburg, Kentucky. She is survived by four sisters: Cissy Luttrell, Louise Carman (Ray), Sue Ashley (Billy), and Judy Wells (Curtiss) and one brother: Donnie Hamilton (Donna) and a sister-in-law Jane Hamilton. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Grave side services will be on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 12PM, at the shelter of Salyers Cemetery, Salyers Cemetery Road, Yosemite, KY 42566.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Connie’s name to The National Kidney Foundation or The American Heart Association.
