Connie A. Atkins Bastin, age 70, of McKinney, Kentucky, passed away at her residence on Monday, October 24, 2022. She was born, Tuesday, February 19, 1952, in McKinney, Kentucky, to the late William Henry Atkins and Ethel Marie Terry Atkins Cox. Connie leaves behind her husband, Larry W. “Cowboy” Bastin, who she married Saturday, September 14, 1991. She worked at Walmart for 15 years. Connie was a member of Green River Pentecostal Church. She loved her dogs and cats, loved talking to people, and she enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
Connie leaves behind two sons, Gary Reed Atkins, Jr. (Alisha) of McKinney and Michael Scott Atkins (Jennifer) of Junction City, Kentucky; one daughter, Teresa Ann Atkins of McKinney; a granddaughter, Breanna Atkins (Keith Johnson); two great grandchildren, Jayden and Emily Ascencio; two brothers, Michael Atkins (Marfe) of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Frankie Lee of Jamestown, Kentucky; one brother in law, Larry Dean Walls of McKinney; one sister, Debbie Weaver of Jamestown; and her step mother, Betty Coleman of Jamestown.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Melvin Cox; two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Atkins, and William Henry Atkins; two sisters, Cindy Kay Walls, and Judy Marie Atkins; and one granddaughter, Catisha Patterson Ascencio.
A Visitation will be held 5-8PM Friday, October 28, 2022, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. A second Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the funeral home.
The Funeral Service will be 1:00PM Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the funeral home. Bro. Billy Brown will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Connie’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Larry Bastin, Jayden Ascencio, Emily Ascencio, Bruce Bigelo, Mark Peck, and Keith Johnson will serve as Active Pallbearers. Teresa Atkins, Breanna Atkins, Gary Reed Atkins Jr., Michael Scott Atkins, David Bastin, and Gary Bastin will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
