Clarence “Junior” Holton, age 92, of the South Fork community of Lincoln County, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. Born Friday, October 24, 1930, in the Arabia community of Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clarence Walter & Luellar Sims Holton. His loving wife, whom he married Thursday, August 23, 1962, is Linda Martin Holton of South Fork. Junior, along with his wife, owned Holton’s Grocery Store for 22 years, and was a farmer. Junior was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed hunting, gardening, and watching UK Basketball and boxing. Junior loved his family dearly and enjoyed the times he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Junior leaves behind his children, Donnie Holton (Patricia) of South Fork, Cindy Williams (Larry) of South Fork, and Darin Holton (Kim) of Stanford, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Delbert Williams (Sabrina McGuire), Jessica Carter, Shawn Holton, Jennifer Dailey (Josh), and Kimber Nicely (Logan); five great-grandchildren, Hailey Carter, Jackson Dailey, Braydon Carter, Riley Nicely, and Grayson Carter; one sister-in-law, Kathy Beatty; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by five brothers, Walter Holton, Orville Holton, Raymond Holton, William Holton, and Jason Holton; two sisters, Rose Lamon and Daisy Holton; and two infant sisters.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, September 15, 2023, at the funeral home. Bro. David Gambrel will officiate the service.
Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery. Larry Williams, Donnie Holton, Darin Holton, Shawn Holton, Ricky Holton, Logan Nicely, and Raymond Earl Holton will serve as Active Pallbearers. Junior’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
