Cheryl Annette Lay Brown

Cheryl Annette (Lay) Brown, age 66, of McKinney, Kentucky, received her ultimate healing as she was ushered in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.  Born Saturday, April 25, 1959, in Danville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Dessie Norlena Lay of McKinney.  Her loving husband, whom she married Friday, April 25, 1975, is Johnny Mack Brown of McKinney.  Cheryl worked, for 18 years, as a Kindergarten Teacher’s Assistant at McKinney Elementary.  Cheryl was a member of the Green River Pentecostal Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading Amish novels, and shopping.  Cheryl loved her family dearly and enjoyed children and the elderly.  Cheryl will always be remembered for her positive attitude and keeping a smile on her face, even in the difficult times in her life.

In addition to her husband and mother, Cheryl leaves behind two daughters, Cassie Rebecca Kinet (Ruben) of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Carrie Elizabeth Tyler (Jonathan) of McKinney; five grandchildren, Lexi Brie Tyler of McKinney, Calli Jayde Brown of McKinney, Jonathan Lakely Tyler of McKinney, Faye S. Kinet of Yukon, and Ronin D. Kinet of Yukon; special aunt, Alma Wilcher of McKinney; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

Cheryl was preceded in death by a special aunt, Margaret Louverna Wilcher.

Public Visitations will be held 5-8PM Saturday, July 19, 2025, and 9-11AM Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Green River Pentecostal Church.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 11AM Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the church.  Bro. Rick Naylor and Bro. Prentice Hubble will officiate the service. 

Burial will follow in McKinney Cemetery.  Lon Long, Bobby Wilcher, David Lewis, Terry Wilcher, Tommy Turner, and Ivan Brown will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Randy Brown, Jackie Wilcher, Kelly Wilcher, Popcorn Brown, Betty England, Brooke Harris, Jennifer Malone, Verna Robinson, Tammy Vanhook, Camilla McCarty, Ashlie Young, Gary & Sharlene Moore, Linda Lewis, and Shelia Martin will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
