Charlie Folger

Charlie Folger, age 77, of Stanford, passed away at his home with his Family by his side on Saturday, August 26, 2023.  Born Saturday, August 17, 1946, in Stanford to the late Clyde Lewis Folger and Rebecca Steele Folger.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ruth Gerkey Folger whom he married on October 20, 1972.  Charlie was a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church.  Charlie retired after 20 years of service with the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He was a Sunday School Director at Parlor Grove Baptist Church for 15 years, a bus driver for Lincoln County Schools for 19 years and was also a Bus Driver Trainer and Instructor.

Charlie leaves behind his two sons, Charles Wesley Folger (Jodi) of Oviedo Florida and William Daniel Folger (Heather) of Stanford; three Grandchildren, Noah Wesley Folger, Carter Daniel Folger, and Jerika Grace Folger; one Sister Patricia Gayle Burchfield (Billy) of Waynesburg.

A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 2:00pm at Parlor Grove Baptist Church with Bro Kerry Jones and Bro. Josh Pennington officiating the service.  A burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.  Greg Good, Amy Good, Dan Folger, Carter Folger, Wes Folger and Ken Sneed will serve as active Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Church. A Second visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 12:00-2:00p.m.
