Charles “Joe” Denson, Jr., 77, of Stanford, KY passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation Center in Stanford. Born Saturday, April 29, 1944 to the late Charlie and Lucy Denson, Joe was a retired employee of RC Cola where he worked as a delivery driver. He loved to listen to Gospel Radio, loved animals, and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, David Lee Denson (Sheila) of Mount Vernon, KY, Donald Scott Denson of Harrodsburg, KY, and Michael Joseph Denson of Somerset, KY; four brothers, Hank Ruth (Betty) of Crab Orchard, KY, Marvin Eugene Denson of Lancaster, KY, Harold Denson and Ricky Denson (Glorita) both of Stanford, KY; three sisters, Patsy Ann Hines (Gene) of Stanford, KY, Janie Taylor (Jimmy) of Waynesburg, KY, and Loretta Edwards (Buford); six grandchildren, Joshua Scott Denson (Cassandra) of Mississippi, Cody Jordan Lee Denson (Brooke) of Mt. Vernon, KY, Corbyn Laurel (Martin “Bo") of Danville, KY, Adam Charles Joseph Denson of Murfreesboro, TN, Landon Jackson Denson of Garrard County, KY, and Lauren Daniels (Ameer); three great-grandchildren, Eloise Lynn Denson, Mark Elliot Porter III, and Walker Scott Denson, one brother-in-law, Denver Smith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Mark Denson, Jimmy Denson, and Freddie “Poncho” Denson; and one sister, Gladys Smith.
A one day service has been scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home in Stanford. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm with funeral service beginning at 1pm. Reverend Vola Brown will officiate the service and burial will follow at Ephesus Cemetery in Crab Orchard, KY. Military Rites will be provided by Caswell-Saufley American Legion Post #18. Active pallbearers are, Cody Denson, Dalton Denson, Chris Taylor, Adam Denson, Steve Denson, and Landon Denson. Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Lincoln County Humane Society (341 Workhouse Rd., Stanford, KY 40484) and/or Caswell-Saufley American Legion Post #18 (P.O. Box 74, Stanford, KY 40484).
