Carolyn M. McIntosh

Carolyn M. McIntosh, 92, of Bethel, Ohio, passed away on September 23, 2021.

Born on October 21, 1928, in Waynesburg, Kentucky, daughter of Clarence and Sarah Letitia Meade.  Carolyn was a faithful member of Monuments Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Ameila, for 50 years. Carolyn received a Bachelors of Science in Education from Miami University in 1962 and her Master's in Education from Xavier University in 1965, while working two jobs and raising a family with her husband. A charter member of Delta Chi. She was the principal at Monroe Elementary where she was an educator for over 30 years. Carolyn was involved in youth and womens groups in her community.

She was the beloved mother of Wayne McIntosh, Jeanne McIntosh, Jimmi McIntosh, Penny Thirey, and Carol McIntosh; cherished grandmother of William (Yuri) Brown, Bess (Joe) Long, James Brown, Chris Thirey, Alice (Dan) Prince, Andrew (Nikki) Brown, Ali (Ike) Williams, and Carey (Sarah) Adkins; loving great-grandmother of 11; dear sister of Joyce Fletcher.

Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Edgar G. McIntosh; her son, David Edgar McIntosh; son-in-law, Roger Thirey; three siblings.

A public visitation will be held at Monuments Baptist Church, 2831 OH-222, Bethel, Ohio 45106 on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 PM.

A public funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on September 27, 2021, at Monuments Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Pence officiating.

Graveside service will take place at 12pm on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Parlor Grove Cemetery 2020 KY-1781, Waynesburg, KY 40489.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Monuments Baptist Church.
