Carolyn Louise Gehlhausen Coffey, age 72, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born Thursday, February 7, 1952, in Danville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Victor John Gehlhausen, Sr. and the late Sue Ella Badgett Gehlhausen. Carolyn was the widow of the late Gary D. Coffey, whom she married Friday, June 5, 1970, and preceded her in death Saturday, December 17, 2022. Carolyn was a homemaker and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Carolyn was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, and loved flowers and loved to shop.
Carolyn leaves behind one daughter, Shawna Rogers (William Carl) of Stanford; two sons, Shane Coffey of Stanford and Matt Coffey (Ashley) of Stanford; 9 grandchildren, Ryan Douglas, Deziree Rogers (Cody Cost), Sarah Rogers (Mitchell Jones), Chelsea Withers (Matt), Olivia Coffey, Gage Coffey, Daniel Coffey, Sara Coffey, and Easton Coffey; 12 great-grandchildren, Addy, Chandler, Danika, Keaton, Eli, Logan, Parker, Kate, Lilly, Emma, Peyton, and Ezekiel; one brother, Victor John Gehlhausen, Jr. (the late Melinda) of Manchester, Kentucky; two sisters, Martha Sue Gehlhausen of Stanford, and Jacqueline Lee Gibson (Mike) of Hustonville; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by one sister, Monica Esther Whited.
Cremation Rites honored.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-6PM Monday, December 16, 2024, at Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
A Public Memorial Service will be held 6:00PM Monday, at the church.
The Visitation and Memorial Service will be hosted by the Coffey family.
