Brenda Tillett Howell

Brenda Tillett Howell, age 79, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.  Born Monday, December 11, 1944, in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late Leroy & Ada Easter Campbell Tillett.  Brenda was the widow of the late Billie Joe Howell, whom she was married to for 43 years, and preceded her in death June 11, 2013.  Brenda previously worked as a Human Resource Secretary for the construction industry and member of Fairview Baptist Church.  Brenda enjoyed reading, quilting, drawing, painting, gardening, and traveling. 

Brenda leaves behind one son, Wayne Greer (Penny) of Stanford; one daughter, Tammy Annette Lane (Mitch) of Saratoga, Wyoming; one step-son, Larry Howell (Joyce) of Gonzalez, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Amber Lynn Cole (Chris) of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Ashley Nicole Pope (Jeremy) of Stanford, Joseph Lane (Heidi) of Casper, Wyoming, Amanda Lane of Saratoga, Samantha Powley (Mark) of Lexington, Kentucky, Luka Lane of Laramie, Wyoming, and Caileb Lane of Saratoga; nine great-grandchildren, Austin Cole, Charlie Cole, Chloe Pope, DJ Powley, Gabe Pope, Gracewen Pope, Liam Powley, Sophia Lane, and Ashton Lane; three brothers, Buddy Tillett of Stanford, Lynn Tillett (Carol) of Hemet, California, and Mark Tillett of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Betty Burton and Gail Hogue (Denny) both of Waynesburg; and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Brenda was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Willett; sister-in-law, Margaret Tillett, brother-in-law, Warren Burton, brother-in-law, Ray Willett, and brother-in-law, John Psimer.

Public Visitations will be held 5-8PM Saturday, August 17, 2024, and 1-2PM Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Fairview Baptist Church.

The Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, at the church.  Bro. Jeremy Pope and Gabe Pope will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Brenda’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. 

Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.  Bro. David Conrades will officiate the Graveside Service.  Chris Cole, Tim Tillett, Charlie Cole, Austin Cole, Gabe Pope, Lee Burton, Aaron Psimer, and Jon Psimer will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Joseph Lane, Doug Tillett, Brett Howell, Brennan Howell, Caileb Lane, and Luka Lane will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
