Bobbie Joyce "Nanny" Rice

Bobbie Joyce “Nanny” Rice, 79, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville with her family by her side. Born Tuesday, September 28, 1943 in Garrard County, Kentucky to the late Ernest Samuel and Ada V. Shearer Allen, she was a retired employee of H.T. Hackney in Somerset, KY and was a former line dancing instructor where she was known as the “Rhinestone Cowgirl.”  She loved spending time with her family and friends, babysitting her grandchildren, visiting the beach, and shopping.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Burchfield (Terry) of Stanford, KY, and Melissa “Missy” Carpenter of Lexington, KY; one brother, Roger Allen (Juanita) of Danville, KY; nine grandchildren, Emily Fangue (Seth) of Lexington, KY, Dustin Burchfield of Stanford, KY, Devin Burchfield (Jordan) of Danville, KY, Austin Burchfield of Danville, KY, Dylan Burchfield (Breanna Clark) of Stanford, KY, Kassidy Burchfield of Stanford, KY, Heather Gadberry of Lexington, KY, Erica Huffman (Tim Livingood) of Florence, KY, and Heidi Huffman of Louisville, KY; five great-grandchildren, Madison Sizemore, Connor Sizemore, Nolin Fangue, River Burchfield, and Juniper Burchfield; two special friends, Earl Dean Brummett of Stanford, KY, and Vicky Worthington of Liberty, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Delbert Allen; and two sisters, Shirley Cooley, and Mary Frances Middlebrook.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6-8pm at Fox & FRIEND Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral service will be at 1pm on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the funeral home with Bro. Chester New officiating. Following the service cremation rites will be honored.
