Billy Ray Severance, Sr.

Billy Ray Severance, Sr., age 81, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.  Born Saturday, April 30, 1938 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Homer & Opal Lowduska Emma Jane Denny Severance.  Billy was the widower of the late Peggy Jo Price Severance, whom he married Saturday, January 4, 1958, and preceded him in death Friday, May 7, 2010.  Billy was a US Navy Veteran, who served 1955-1959. Billy retired from Square D, where he worked as a Material Analyst.  Billy was a dedicated member of Fairview Baptist Church, and loved animals.

Billy leaves behind one son, Billy Ray Severance, Jr. (Jane) of Lexington; one daughter, Debby Jo Carter (Rick Akers) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Logan Price (Valerie) of Ashland, Kentucky, Morgan Severance (Eric Curran) of Newport, Kentucky, and Allison Severance of Lexington; one great-grandson, Legend Price of Ashland; two brothers, Walter Severance of West Chester, Ohio, and Dallas Severance of Brodhead, Kentucky; and five sisters, Dorothy Wilder (Harvey) of Stanford, Betty Sallee of Danville, Kentucky, Carolyn Tussey and Brenda Hunt both of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and Terri Bertram of Junction City, Kentucky.

In addition to his wife and parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Severance and Danny Severance; and one infant sister, Linda Severance.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Monday, January 6, 2020 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Baker officiating the service.  Burial, with Full Military Honors performed by the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion, will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Billy Ray Severance, Jr., Ted Carter, Logan Price, Walter Severance, Rick Akers, and Billy Franklin will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Legend Price and Dallas Severance will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 6-9PM Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the funeral home.
