Betty Hawkins Young

Betty Hawkins Young, 96, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

She was born December 17, 1928, in Canton, North Carolina, daughter of Adam Mark and Lillian Henderson Hawkins.

Betty was an educator.  In Louisville, Kentucky she taught at Valley High School, Doss High School and Highview Baptist Church School.  She also taught in Richmond, Kentucky and in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. She was a member of Highview Baptist Church and the Grateful Threads Knitting Group.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Pickle (Bill), Janet Trombley, and Teresa Ohlmann; grandchildren, Chad Ohlmann (Amber), Jake Ohlmann, Jessica Lucas (Trent), Clay Muench (Morgan) and Samantha Trombley; and great grandchildren, Walker and Claire Lucas and Molly Stutphen.

Visitation is 3-7pm Monday, March 17, 2025, at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. 

Graveside service is 11am Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Kentucky.  If you would like to attend the graveside service, please arrive at Fox & Friend Funeral Home by 10:30AM Tuesday, to go in formal procession.
