Bettie Ann Severance Sallee, age 81, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Sunday, December 3, 1944, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Homer & Opal Pruitt Severance. Bettie was the widow of James B. “Jimmie” Sallee, whom she married Saturday, September 28, 1963, and preceded her in death Thursday, May 14, 1998. Bettie served on the Assembly Board for Protection & Advocacy in Frankfort, Kentucky, for many years. For her hard work and contribution with the board, she was named a Kentucky Colonel. Bettie was a homemaker, where she poured her life into her family. Bettie loved the Lord, her husband, children and grandchildren with all her heart. Bettie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Danville.
Bettie leaves behind two sons, Chad Sallee (Kamela) of Danville, and Justin Sallee of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Taylor Hesselbach and Delaney Sallee of Lexington, Kentucky, Samantha Sallee of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Emma and Brennan Sallee of Danville; two sisters, Brenda Hunt of Somerset, Kentucky, and Terri Bertram of Stanford; one brother, Walter Severance of West Chester, Ohio; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bettie was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Lou Severance (infant), Dorothy Wilder, and Carolyn Tussey; and four brothers, Jimmy Severance, Danny Severance, Billy Severance, and Dallas Severance.
A Public Graveside Service will be held 1PM Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the shelter of Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pastor Chris Morgan will officiate the service.
Burial will follow the service. Chad Sallee, Justin Sallee, Taylor Hesselbach, Brennan Sallee, Berek Bodner, Eric Childress, and Jacob Cummins will serve as Active Pallbearers.
