Mrs. Bess Alice Wilson, age 86, a resident of Traditions at Beaumont in Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020. Born Friday, June 1, 1934 in Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Gaines & Victoria (Miniard) Whitaker. Bess graduated from Harlan High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Union College. Mrs. Wilson retired, as a Math Teacher, from the Lincoln County School System. Following retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher for many years. She was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church.
Bess leaves behind one daughter, Jennifer Black (Todd) of Louisville; one son, Greg Wilson (Tamara Whiles) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Andy Black of Carrolton, Kentucky, Hayley Black of Clarksville, Indiana, and Hannah Wilson of Versailles, Kentucky.
A Public Visitation will be held 9:30AM-11AM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. A Public Funeral Service will begin at 11:00AM Saturday at the funeral home. Bro. Vola Brown will officiate the service. Stephen D. Brown, Nehemiah Wilkinson, Clinton Harris, and Donnie Gilliam will serve as Active Pallbearers. Bess' grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
A Public Graveside Service will be held 2:00PM Saturday at the Mausoleum Chapel at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, 4915 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
