Annie Denson Hines, age 72, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 9, 2024, at her home. Born Friday, May 11, 1951, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Lucy Dowell Denson. Her loving husband, whom she married Saturday, November 2, 1968, is Gene Harold Hines of Stanford. Annie was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and ministered in the prison ministry. Annie previously worked at Food Fair and at the creamery. Annie loved her grandchildren, flowers, camping, fishing, and watching TV.
In addition to her husband, Annie leaves behind one son, Gene Hines, Jr. (Kelley) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Teresa Walls (Darrell) of Stanford, and Patty McCoy (Jeff) of Stanford; six grandchildren, Melinda Evans (Corey) of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Carla Cunningham of Bardstown, Kentucky, Zach Walls (Amber) of Stanford, Cameron Walls (Autumn) of Stanford, Abagail Pittman (Charles Baxter) of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, and Lucy Hines of Harrodsburg; nine great-grandchildren, Corey Cunningham, Addison Cunningham, Jayden Cunningham, Hayley Cunningham, Allison Cunningham, Loyalty Pitmon, TyMonte Upson, Ellie Walls, and Easton Walls; three brothers, Marvin Eugene Denson of Lancaster, Kentucky, Harold Denson of Stanford, and Ricky Denson (Glorita) of Stanford; two sisters, Janie Taylor (Jimmy) of Waynesburg, and Loretta Edwards (Buford) of Stanford; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friend who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by five brothers, Hank Ruth, Mark Denson, Jimmy Denson, Freddie “Poncho” Denson, and Joe Denson; and one sister, Gladys Smith.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, at the funeral home. Bro. Vola Brown & Bro. Chris Taylor will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Annie’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. Zach Walls, Cameron Walls, Charles Baxter, Corey Evans, Corey Cunningham, and Abagail Pittman will serve as Active Pallbearers. Gene Hines, Jr., Darrell Lee Walls, Jeff McCoy, and all other grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Annie’s will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
