Anita Suzette "Susie" Murphy

Anita Suzette “Susie” Murphy, age 56, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at her home.  Born Thursday, February 9, 1967, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Leona Hatfield Murphy of Kings Mountain, and the late Clifford M. Murphy, Sr.  Susie previously was a manager at Big Lots in Somerset & Danville, Kentucky, and worked at Trim Masters.  Anita loved her grandsons dearly and took excellent care of them. 

In addition to her mother, Susie leaves behind one daughter, Brooke Lynn Murphy of Kings Mountain; three grandsons, Zeke Murphy, Xavier Murphy, and Elijah Murphy all of Kings Mountain; four brothers, Rodney Lynn Murphy (Laura Lin) of Destin, Florida, Cliff Murphy, Jr. (Jennifer) of Kings Mountain, Albert Wynne Murphy of Kings Mountain, and Larry Murphy (Jill) of Panama City, Florida; one sister, Misti Leane Price (Walter) of Kings Mountain; special friend, Rodney Adams of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, his son, Michael Perry (Ashley) of Manchester, Kentucky, and his grandchildren, Leland & Shaelynn Perry of Manchester; special friend, Christy Goodlett of Kings Mountain; Susie’s precious dog, Zena; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her father, Susie was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Murphy; and one sister, Landa Kaye Pike.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-2PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, at the funeral home.  Bro. David Gambrel will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Susie’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in K.P. Hall Cemetery.  Walter Price, Elijah Smith, Bill Jenkins, Jerry Boyd, Warren Pike, and Tristin Stephens will serve as Active Pallbearers. Rodney Adams and Michael Perry will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
