Samuel “Sam” Forrest Singleton, age 13, of Ephesus School Road in Waynesburg, passed unexpectedly Monday, June 4, 2018. Born Monday, September 27, 2004 in Lexington, he was the son of Ed & Tracy Hakel Singleton. Sam was baptized at the age of 11, had a heart for prayer and always gave the glory to God. Sam was a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church, ran Cross Country & Track for Lincoln County, enjoyed performing in school drama plays, liked to invent things, and enjoyed whitewater canoeing. Sam was always full of personality and was an encourager to many.
In addition to his parents, Sam leaves behind one brother, Gabe Singleton; one sister, Lucy Singleton; maternal grandparents, Dave Hakel and Sherry Hakel both of Louisville; paternal grandmother, Mary Helen Singleton of Kings Mountain; and many other extended family and friends who mourn his passing.
Sam was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Revelle Singleton.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Stuart Underwood Auditorium of Lincoln County High School. Bro. David Gambrel, Bro. Bill Gooch, and Bro. Joe Hatter will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Dunham Cemetery in Waynesburg. Gabe Singleton, Shane Stonecypher, Eric Stonecypher, Trevor Stonecypher, Wyatt Stonecypher, and Tanner Stonecypher will serve as Active Pallbearers. The Lincoln County Middle School Drama and the Lincoln County Middle & High School Track & Cross Country Teams will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitations will be held 4-8PM Saturday, June 9, 2018 and 12PM-2PM Sunday at Stuart Underwood Auditorium of Lincoln County High School.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made, through the funeral home, in Sam’s memory, to the Lincoln County Middle School and High School Track & Cross Country Teams or to the Lincoln County Middle School & High School Drama.
