Rita Gail Payne, age 67, of Manor Boulevard in Crab Orchard, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her residence. Born Monday, November 20, 1950 in Indiana, she was the daughter of William Hale of Danville and the late Mildred Ruth Overstreet Rumer. On November 6, 1986, Rita met the love of her life, who later became her husband, Eddie Payne of Crab Orchard. Rita loved to cook, read and enjoyed watching movies.
In addition to her husband and father, Rita leaves behind one son, Jerry (Jennifer) Colyer of Lancaster; one daughter, Aleesha (Jeff) Reynolds of Stanford; seven grandchildren, Zac Colyer, Cody (Corey) Colyer, Kristalynne Reynolds, Chelsee Colyer, Nick Carrier, Cyann Colyer and Russell Carrier; three great-grandchildrern, Peyton Colyer, Kaige Reed and Emma Lynne Colyer; and one brother, Gary (Sandy) Hale of Colorado.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, John Colyer, Jr.; and one brother, William Henry Hale.
Honoring Rita’s wishes, Cremation Rites have been carried out. No services are planned at this time.
