Rita Barnes

Rita Barnes, age 60, of Northampton Drive in Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her residence.  Born Sunday, September 15, 1957 in Lexington, she was the daughter of Joanna Hamilton Mitchell of Lexington and the late Jasper Mitchell.  For the past 18 years, she has worked in Customer Service at Amazon in Lexington.  Rita was a member of Southland Christian Church-Richmond Road Campus, loved to decorate cakes, loved flowers, loved to read, and enjoyed being outdoors.

In addition to her mother, Rita leaves behind one daughter, Heather Marie Barnes (Greg Biddle) of Lexington; one son, Shaun Alan Barnes (Rebecca) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Kaylee Barnes, Harper Biddle, Brady Barnes, Jaxson Biddle, Addison Barnes, and Kinlee Barnes-Biddle all of Lexington; two brothers, Norman Mitchell (Dana) of Lexington, and Gary Mitchell of Versailles; and one sister, Evelyn White (Don) of Lexington.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Monday, June 11, 2018 in Chapel Building A of Southland Christian Church-Nicholasville Campus-5001 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, KY  40356.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington.  Shaun Alan Barnes, Greg Biddle, Norman Mitchell, Gary Mitchell, Billy Hobbs, Randy Mitchell, and Josh Mitchell will serve as Active Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Monday at the church.
