Louise Moore Carpenter

Louise Moore Carpenter, age 79, of KY Hwy 698 in McKinney, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at her daughter’s residence in the Highland community of Lincoln County, Kentucky.  Born Thursday, May 23, 1940 in McKinney, she was the daughter of the late Chester & Gladys Daugherty Moore.  Louise was the widow of the late Garland Edward Carpenter, whom she married September 19, 1958, and preceded her in death June 5, 2002.  Louise was a homemaker and devoted member of Green River Pentecostal Church, where she was a nursery worker for almost 40 years.  She was known as “Granny”, “Auntie”, or “Weezie” by the 29 children she babysat over the years.  Louise previously enjoyed sewing, canning, and traveling in her spare time.

Louise leaves behind three daughters, Debbie Todd (Larry) of Stanford, Kentucky, Kim Turner (Tommy) of the Highland community, and Jessica Payton (Robbie) of McKinney; four grandchildren, Ashley Tackett (Joe) of Stanford, Matthew Todd of Fairfield, Ohio, and Hunter Payton and Natalie Payton both of McKinney; two great-grandchildren, Jacy and Harper Tackett; one brother, Donald Moore (Mary Alice) of McKinney; and four sisters, Joyce Moore (Larry), Wanda Jean Tillett (Carles) and Rita Owens (Jackie) all of McKinney, and Judy Terry (Tommy) of Oahu, Hawaii.

In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Payton; two brothers, Kenneth Moore and Russell Moore.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Monday, June 17, 2019 at Green River Pentecostal Church with Bro. Rick Naylor and Rev. Thomas Hogue officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.  Tim Carpenter, Allen Lewis, Brian Carpenter, Ryan Owens, Jordan Caudill, and Donathan Moore will serve as Active Pallbearers.  All the children that Louise previously babysat will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

Visitations will be held 5-9PM Sunday, June 16, 2019 and 11AM-2PM Monday at the church.
