Aleen Roberts Rice

Aleen Roberts Rice, age 81, of the Highland Community in Lincoln County, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019, at Danville Centre for Health & Rehab.  Born Monday, February 14, 1938 in Reading, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Glen & Ella Horn Roberts.  Aleen was the widow of the late Jesse Thomas “J.T.” Rice, whom she married Tuesday, April 12, 1958, and preceded her in death Thursday, February 16, 2017.  Aleen retired from Matsushita and was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, and listening to Bluegrass Music.

Aleen leaves behind three daughters, Janice Dawn Elliott of Warsaw, Indiana, Joyce Dale Pelkey of Danville, Kentucky, and Judy Delaine Boyd (Clifton R. Boyd) of Stanford, Kentucky; two sons, Mark Dewayne Rice and Brian Thomas Rice both of Berea, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Aleen was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Rice; and three brothers, Norman Roberts, Norbert Roberts, and Howard Roberts.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:30AM Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Gary King officiating the service.  A Graveside Service will be held 1:30PM Wednesday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.  Burial will follow the Graveside Service.  Ashley Pelkey, Jeremy Rice, Andrew Rice, Jesse Rice, John Boyd, Jacob Rice, Matt Rice, and Zachary Pelkey will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Brandon Elliott, Blaine Elliott, Brittany Rice, Rachel Boyd, Emily Rice, and Sarah Rice will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 6-9PM Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the funeral home.
