Ray Wilder, age 84, of Hwy 643 in Crab Orchard, passed Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Danville Center of Health and Rehabilitation. Born Wednesday, September 6, 1933 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Maudie Thompson Wilder. His loving wife, whom he married October 4, 1953, is Hazel Marie Wilder of Crab Orchard. Ray was a US Air Force Veteran and retired as a mechanic from Phillips/Corning. He was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. Ray enjoyed fishing, farming, fixing equipment, sitting on the porch and telling stories.
In addition to his wife, Ray leaves behind one son, Kenneth Ray Wilder of Crab Orchard; three daughters, Chestine Bently of Crab Orchard, Diane Owens of Crab Orchard, and Brenda Wilder of Danville; one sister, Bernice Mink of Indiana; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Wilder, Rex Wayne Wilder, and Charles Eugene Wilder.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, December 12, 2107 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Estes officiating the service. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Full Military Honors performed by Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. PeeWee Crawford, Jeff Stickler, Jamie Stickler, Rockey Johnson, Willie Bently, Jacob Manuel, and Matthew Wilder will serve as Active Pallbearers.
The Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
