Matt Howard

Matt Howard, age 78, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born Sunday, March 26, 1939 in Hyden, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Monroe & Alta Hoskins Howard.  Matt was the widower of the late Eva Lee Cochran Howard, whom he married March 15, 1966 and preceded him in death December 29, 2014.  Matt was a factory worker and was a member of Redemption Road Church in Danville.  He enjoyed attended Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center in Stanford.

Matt leaves behind two sons, Leroy Howard and Mike Howard (Betty) both of Stanford; two daughters, Lisa Tackett (Joe) of Stanford, and Sarah Hoskins (Kerry) of Geneva; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hence, Phil, John & Zoke Howard; and two sisters, Betty Cole and Nancy Kidd.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Redemption Road Church, 125 Pemberton Lane, Danville, KY 40422.  Bro. Gary Yocum will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Joe Tackett, Jr., Shaun Tackett, Chris Tackett, Jordan Tackett, Michael Howard, Justin Hoskins, and Jason Hoskins will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Mike Howard, Leroy Howard, John Howard, Michelle Howard, and Jasmine Hoskins will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

Visitations will be held 5-8PM Monday, February 12, 2018 and 11AM-1PM Tuesday at the church.
