Kay Stull Gordon

Kay Stull Gordon, age 77, of Old South Fork Road in Kings Mountain, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born Sunday, January 7, 1940 in Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Delmar “Pop” “Dale” & Beulah Rowland Stull.  Her loving husband, whom she married May 28, 1977, is George Gordon, Jr. of Kings Mountain.  Kay worked many places throughout her career including, Housekeeping Department at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and Stanford House Nursing Home, a Seamstress at Cowden’s Manufacturing in Stanford, and retired as a Custodian at Lincoln County High School in 1993.  Kay previously attended Kings Mountain Christian Church and enjoyed flea marketing, fishing, and traveling with George.  She also was a writer and contributed to many local publications throughout the years.

In addition to her husband, Kay leaves behind one son, Terry Wayne Stringer of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Jennetta Curry of Kings Mountain; 8 grandchildren, James Robert Stringer, Samantha Jo Love (Justin), Terry Wayne Stringer, Jr., Emily Stringer, Laura Zizelman (Robert), Jessica Reed, Daniel Lewis Young, and Erika Taylor Smith (Joe Williams); and 12 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald James Stringer; two infant brothers, Robert Eugene Stull and Donald James Stull; and one sister, Pauline Helms. 

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Monday, November 27, 2017 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Gooch Cemetery. 

The Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Monday at the funeral home.
