Howard Estes

Howard Estes, age 82, of KY Hwy 3276 in Waynesburg, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born Thursday, August 29, 1935 on Pond Ridge in Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Carl & Mae Morgan Estes.  Howard was the widower of the late Betty Osterman Estes whom he married June 15, 1957, and preceded him in death July 23, 2017.  Howard retired, after 45 plus years of work, as a Heavy Equipment Operator, was a Farmer, and Timber Buyer & Cutter.  Howard was a member of Pond Baptist Church and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers-Local Union #181. 

Howard leaves behind two sons, Tony Estes and Paul Estes (Martha) both of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren, Hannah Griffin (Brandon) of Stanford, and Clay Estes, Logan Estes, and Aaron Estes all of Kings Mountain; and one great-grandchild due in April 2018. 

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Cornett officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.  Clay Estes, Logan Estes, Aaron Estes, Brandon Griffin, Bill Tucker, & Dale Osterman will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Terry Sparkman, Palmer Rogers, Gary Morgan, Ernie Phillips, Herman Adams, and Timmy Folger will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

The Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Saturday at the funeral home.
