George T. Davis

George T. Davis, age 81, of Goggin Lane in Danville, Kentucky, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana and Fort Meyers, Florida, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born Sunday, August 9, 1936 in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Charles Andrew & Fannie May Freeman Davis.  His loving wife, whom he married February 17, 1996, is Shirley Wilson Davis of Danville.  George was a US Army National Guard Veteran, and retired, working for 30 years as an Engineer, at Ford Motor Company.  George was a previous member of the American Legion Post in Indianapolis and previous member of The Elk Club in Florida.  George enjoyed fishing and redecorating homes, and loved antiques. 

In addition to his wife, George leaves behind three daughters, Barbara Pardoe of Danville, Laurie Phillips (Perry) of Wyoming, and Shari Davis of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Rosemary Cassidy of Greenfield, Indiana. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Glenn, Donald, Charles, Chester, & Leon Davis; and one sister, Timi Bunting.

Honoring George’s requests, Cremation Rites have been carried out.  A Memorial Service will be planned soon.
